I woke up some 20 years after matriculating as a music performance major, and found myself both wearing a suit and breaking into a flop sweat at the very thought of stepping on stage. In between? Singing gigs, graduate school, a stint selling pianos, several years teaching, and even a year selling HVAC systems. While my degree is tangentially related to my current position, my favorite stories come from people who have made big career shifts.
This is a place to share those stories; of youthful idealism, and of the ways in which we figure out what’s ultimately important to us. While no one’s journeys are finished, the case studies here might help to influence, inspire, or simply affirm.
